 Debtors Die Quicker
By: Alan Jenks

Your bank account, or lack of one, can foretell your life span. There is a good correlation to the stress induced by a life of debt and how long you will live. After having spent the last 7 years practicing medicine I see it every day. Most illnesses can be traced to a stressful life and once stress has made you sick it can be tough to heal.

What can we do to avoid these health challenges? Go through the short-term pain of eliminating debt and move towards financial independence. Why is there short-term pain? I like my accountant?s answer. He talks about how people are too caught up in the TV stars life style. They buy this and that which all add to their liabilities and cost them money in payments or more sinister is they go out of style and you are forced to buy another model.

These people are constantly buying ?disposable? things that make them feel good for a short time. When things make you feel good versus you making yourself feel good it is just a matter of time before things start going wrong in your body. The body is a chemical soup, which is affected by what we consume, are exposed to and how we feel.

It is easy to see the results of what you eat and drink. And because of this, people faced with a life threatening illness seem to be able to change that quickly. What we are exposed to is a tricky thing; one of the most toxic things we are exposed to daily is a cell phone. Not the microwaves from the signal but the chemicals sprayed onto the phone in production. The phone touches your face and hands several times a day and it is sprayed with some fairly toxic stuff. But with some work we can quickly lower our exposure to environmental toxins.

The tough one to change is our thinking. Are you thinking that your thinking does not affect you? A little experiment then. You and a buddy go to the movies and watch a ?chick flick? and walk out, how do you feel? The next day you and the same buddy go to the same theatre and this time watch a super violent horror film, you walk out, how do you feel this time? Different? Thoughts make chemicals and those chemicals affect you.

This applies to debt in the same way if you are constantly in debt and under stress from financial pressures. Stress makes chemicals that are affecting your body. After a number of years those affects start to become noticeable and sometimes they cause life limiting illnesses. This is why the short-term pain of debt elimination and wealth creation is worth it.

The structure of wealth is simple; get an emergency fund of money. Enough to keep you going for a couple of months. Next get rid of your debts that are zapping your ability to get ahead. Part of getting rid of debts is getting rid of the spending habits that got you there in the first place. Step three is start investing in something you enjoy doing the research on, you need to be knowledgeable on what you are doing. Do not trust your money to somebody that comes to your house and says ?sign here I got ya covered?. You need to learn what the heck your money is doing at all times. There is a an old saying that no one will care more about your financial future than you will. Again, the short-term pain of learning something possibly new to you can gain you the long-term joy of financial independence.

The study?s are out there, stress kills and being poor cause can cause you a lot of stress. I know because I was once there myself. I got rid of that stress. Does being wealthy cause me stress, yes sometimes but then I remember a wealthy friend told me, ?If this problem can be solved with money, then there is no problem.? I hope you too can say this someday.
